2020 has been a very challenging year. 2021 is full of opportunities, which we want to explore and on which we will build on our common future. This is the long-lasting outlook on the global cement industry: growing world population will require more building materials and specifically cement and concrete in the future as shown in the graph above.

However, the increase in cement volume has been absorbed by idle cement plants as well as through improvement of process, changes in chemistry etc. in order to improve the ecological footprint of cement and concrete towards CO2 neutrality. Similar to the 3D printing, these changes will lead to new cement properties and requirements for statutory audits to control them.
