One of the latest trends in the construction industry in 3D printing:

layer by layer the walls of a building are built up by a concrete paste. The advantages of 3D printing is obviously: the architectural design becomes more flexible, e.g. curved walls, the digital model of the planner can be directly used on site to control the printer, no formwork is required thus speeding up the construction process to name some. This technology is now emerging from an academic research topic towards a disruptive construction technology. ToniTechnik has worked closely with the technical university of Berlin on developing a new automated testing machine. One key physical property requirement of the concrete is, that the stiffness and strength of a concrete layer must be high enough, that the next layer of concrete is already properly supported. After extended testing and development, the new machine will be launched in Q2 and will set a new standard in specific testing for 3D printing
