For the determination of the mechanical properties of soft metallic materials deformation-controlled compression and strain tests are requested. Especially in the aluminum industry and the steel sheet industry these tests are being executed. The maximum force during the deformation of the material is measured and a visual inspection of the sample deformation is being done.
For these tests the extremely stiff TonNORM 600-1000 kN capacity load frames with a fixed mounted upper pressure plate are in operation. The measurement of the deformation in the range of 100-250 mm/min is effected by an inductive piston path transducer. Together with the sensitive ToniTROL measuring and control system, this solution offers the highest degree of reproducible results.
