Plasticity Tester Type Pfefferkorn – Model 3002

The plasticity tester is designed for the determination of the workability of ceramic materials. The plasticity value according to Pfefferkorn is determined by measuring the plasticity of a specimen between a fixed lower bearing plate and a free falling upper brass plate.

Advantages

✓ Reliable evaluation of characteristic values
✓ Simple operation

Description

Application

For the evaluation of the workability of ceramic materials. By measuring a specimen deformed between a stationary lower bearing plate and a free falling upper brass plate the plasticity value as defined by Pfefferkorn is determined.

Design

The specimen is placed on a brass plate supported on a bearing block. A second plane plate is attached to the lower end of a free falling ram guided in a stand.

A double scale allows both readouts of specimen com-pression and plasticity value. The apparatus comes with clamping and releasing devices and with a sepe-rate mold to prepare the specimen.
