Zur Bestimmung der mechanischen Eigenschaften von Aluminium werden verformungsgesteuerte Druck- und Dehnversuche durchgeführt. Die maximale Kraft während der Verformung des Materials wird gemessen und die Verformung des Probekörpers wird visuell überprüft.
Für diese Versuche werden die extrem steifen ToniNORM (600 – 2000) kN-Lastrahmen mit einer festen oberen Druckplatte verwendet. Die Verformung wird mit Hilfe eines induktiven Kolbenwegaufnehmers gemessen. Die Belastungsrate für diese Anwendung liegt im Bereich von 100 mm/min bis 300 mm/min beim Biegen.
